I like to scribble and doodle when I'm looking for some inspiration. A pen's always my go-to for this as there's a lot less room for 'mistakes' (A word I confess to once having used in the past – Shameful.) and boosts flexibility and the courage to adapt as you go. My "Daily Doodle Challenge" has really elevated this mindset for me now.

Character design, book jackets, storybook illustrations and graphical artwork, I enjoy assisting my clients to create a visual for their unique imaginations.
If you have some writing or concept you would like represented - contact me and let's get that incredible idea of yours out there!

Athena and Hemingway - Preview
“Athena! Athena!”
Tiny paws pattered speedily through the chamber, time seemingly powerless against the energy with which they propelled.

The she-dragon slowly turned her head down with the mildest of surprise tinting her forlorn eyes. “Hemingway-?” She begun.

Emerging from the top of the long winding stairs, her visitor appeared, baggy trousers drooping and dripping. “I've found it! I have finally found one!” He squealed.

Hemingway chucked his adventurer’s bag onto the warm stone floor and scrummaged giddily inside.
“Take a breath, Hemingway, before you collapse. I have nowhere to be and will not lose interest. So, please, breathe.”

Sniggering softly with embarrassment, the young rat used his arm to scrub the back of his wet neck and fixed his smart 'special occasion' bow tie. As instructed, he took a quick breath, cleared his throat and then presented something small that glowed in the darkness of the cave.

In Hemingway's paws was a small flower.
Its white & purple speckled petals, glistening, delicate and complex, an aura of numerous colours radiating far, its stem adorned with a tiny brown bow.

A feeling of serenity surrounded the pair.

“A gift, it had to be perfect, something that is as captivating as you, Athena….Happy, Happy Birthday!”
